The latest production for Rick Davis Cine takes us to the state of the art Ferrari shop of Tony D and Anthony Sinnot, Scuderia Performante. We've been shooting on location in Malvern with Tony and Anthony to get a feel for how they run their newly formed business. Incorporating our skills in still and motion we are creating a unique branding film for the pair to display on their website and across social media platforms. This film will showcase the services they offer and how their 44 years of combined experience make them uniquely well suited to care for Ferraris and other exotic automobiles. You will get to know Tony and Anthony, who pride themselves on creating a 1 to 1 relationship with all of their clients, and see the passion they share for all things Italian auto. Stay tuned!
I have to say, these family members kept their cool (literally) on a somewhat freezing day when these photographs were taken. Frigid biting wind made for a very rapid composition. Great co-operative subjects, fast strobes and motor drive assured we did not get to the red nose stage. Great shoot for a great family business.
For the May, 2015 issue of Family Business Magazine, I shot some very important members of the A.DuiePYLE team for the cover and interior spread. A.DuiePYLE is a family-owned and operated business based in West Chester, PA and provides integrated transportation and distribution services supported by 24 transportation service centers located throughout the Northeast region. With second, third and fourth generations of family members still working within the company, they've found to appreciate keeping such a great company in the family for generations to come.
Early this year, we got a call to work on a project for Dentsply Caulk, helping to launch a new product, from Jenna Fletcher and Mark Masseur of Symmetri Marketing Group, a full service, integrated, B2B agency in Chicago. The creative brief called for macro views of a crown procedure to be used in both print quality stills and clinical video featuring Calibra Universal, which is a new self-adhesive resin for use on a wide range of indications, from metal crowns and PFMs, to all-zirconia and all-ceramic.
Great teamwork made it all come together in a very crowded dental suite. Thanks to new tech LED lighting and beautiful macro glass, we were able to get our images as the patient got a double crown procedure by Dr.Nicholas Conte & Dr.Jason Goodchild; who we later featured in a Snappy Set of interviews and silly bits before wrapping the shoot. Enjoy the linked video clips. Great dentists, good sports but marginal actors!
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to work with Jonathan Male, a Principal and Executive Creative Director of REALITYRx, a global boutique specializing in healthcare communications. Together we created a series of images for NuTech®, a leading biologics and medical device company. NuTech is in a launch mode for Affinity®, the first and only fresh amniotic allograft which provides highly bioactive healing. Other allografts that we captured images for included NuCel®, an allograft derived from human amnion and amniotic fluid, which provides an enhanced environment for tissue growth, repair and healing. Another amniotic allograft we worked with is NuShieldTM, which is readily available due to its room temperature storage and long shelf life, and is widely used as a wound covering for soft tissue injuries, as well as a barrier for the protection of tendons, nerves and dura. Another innovation that we photographed is Matrix, an allograft known for its natural osteoconductive and osteoinductive properties. Matrix is a cancellous and demineralized cortical mixture derived from the same donor, which can be used as a bone void filler.
Just an amazing new world. Seemingly every project I do has an element that breaks the norm. It’s always exciting to see these innovations in the medical and healthcare industry up close and personal, talk to the product managers, experience their excitement and be part of a roll out of the next big thing.

Inspired, Transformed... American Baptist Churches: A Film of Inspirational Leaders.
I was extremely honered to be a part of this project. As my role of a DP in conjunction with Springhouse Films, we interviewed several inspirational leaders such as Jimmy Carter, Rep. John Lewis and Rev. Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook. These are still images from the inveriews, view the complete work at: http://www.abc-usa.org/inspired/
The relationship between doctor and patient is one of the most unique we will encounter in our time here on earth. From the most world-renowned surgeon to the first year med student, any medical professional will agree that an excellent rapport with patients is essential to success in the field of healthcare.
This touching moment between caregiver and patient was photographed on location at the Brandywine Center in Coatesville, PA. The mutual respect between these two men could be felt; it had such presence. In fact, the energy was so relaxed, I could almost hear this man’s heartbeat.
This photo can be seen on the ChesPenn Health Services website as part of the providers’ bios page. ChesPenn Health Services, one of four wellness driven facilities located within the Center for Family Health at Coatesville at Brandywine Center, provides medical care to low-income families and individuals who otherwise might not have these services available to them.
Littering is bad karma. Our planet is so precious and our most important job as its inhabitants is to protect it. That said, beach glass is the beautiful result of the careless act of tossing manmade glass into the ocean married with years of natural abrasion by wave and sand.
It has many names: mermaid tears, sea glass and trash glass among them. These particular pieces are part of my wife Elizabeth’s collection, gathered from many beaches from California to New Jersey. For this still life shot, I set the pieces in water and black lit them, illuminating their shape and vibrant colors. This photo is a favorite in my product and still life portfolios and is used as wall decor in my studio.
Lewis Hendler of Michael Todd True Organics featuring the Soniclear brush.
Recently, working in conjunction with Springhouse Films, as Director of Photography, we did a two-day in-studio shoot for and the launch of the new web portal for their Soniclear brush, the World’s First Antimicrobial Sonic Skin Cleansing System. We did both still and motion shots for their website and print advertising. We had five models on a white background to highlight the clean and glowing skin they have from using this brush. Along with the five models, Gretta Monahan acted as the spokeswoman for this shoot. She was a wonderful addition to the shoot and it was a pleasure to have her on set.

Large productions are always fun and rewarding, and this long-awaited beauty shoot was especially so.

On June 29, 2007, the first iPhone was released to the public. It’s been 8 short years, but to iOS users, it’s hard to imagine a life without iPhone. This device has not only revolutionized the way we communicate, but also the way we capture photos.
When Rick found this tack wrapped in wire, inspiration struck. With no camera or equipment in tow, he was able to capture an awesome image with just a click of a touchscreen. The sharp, spiral lines of the wire, the fiery copper of the tack, all captured beautifully with a device that fits in the palm of your hand and slips easily into your back pocket.
The image of the wire wrapped tack went on to be used in print and advertising and held its own with photos captured with much more sophisticated equipment. iOS photography continues to grow and evolve, making impromptu photo shoots and capturing spontaneous moments a tap of the finger away.
